Tool to tackle climate change and
reduce greenhouse gas emissions

Emissions Trading System

The Emissions Trading System (ETS) is a key tool for the European Union to tackle climate change and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

With the new European sustainability policies coming into force from January 2024, affecting the shipping industry, we are committed to maintaining transparency and constantly informing passengers of the latest updates.

The ETS was introduced by the relevant authorities to further regulate emissions of carbon or other greenhouse gases. This measure can serve several purposes, such as encouraging the reduction of emissions, financing environmental initiatives and stimulating technological innovation.
